Cleansing Grains

This is a natural grain cleanser that is a gentle exfoliant. It is made with only 6 ingredients that are combined in a way that maximizes your skins texture and provides a radiant glow! The herbs used in this formula are a deeply nourishing blend of rejuvenating and healing herbs for the skin.

It is gentle enough to use daily. This cleanser can also be used as a mask (recipes below) and as a facial steam.


Pour a small amount of grains into you the palm of your hand. Mix with a small amount of water (about a dime size to start). Mix and apply to your face using gentle circular movements. Rinse.

You can also apply as a mask with just water or add ingredients such as in the recipes below. Leave the grains on for 5-10 minutes before washing off.

To use as a facial steam: add herbs to boiling water, turn to low and allow herbs to simmer for a few minutes. Remove from heat and place a towel over your head to make a tent while placing your face 6-12 inches from the pot. (make sure the steam is not too hot for your face!)

Some sample mask to make with the Cleansing Grains:

This is very calming for sensitive skin

* 3 T Cleansing Grains * 1-2 tsp ground oatmeal * For oily skin types - enough water to moisten. For sensitive skin - honey and for dry skin – yogurt.

* Let sit for 25 min or longer

* Rinse with warm water 

Fruit Kaolin Clay Mask–

This mask works well for brightening the skin and for removing dead skin cells • 1 tsp kaolin clay • 1 tsp ground oatmeal • 1 well mushed strawberry (mash it with a fork till it becomes a jelly) try papaya, banana, or pineapple too! (read more about fruit masks here) • Add a small amount of yogurt or raw honey • Apply to the face and let sit 25 minutes • Rinse with warm water.

Chamomile is a natural skin lightener and helps to promotes a healthy glow of the skin as it heals and restores its natural moisture content. Chamomile can impart a soothing, calming, and healing effect.

Calendula, has been used for centuries to heal wounds and skin irritations. Calendula has anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, astringent, antifungal, antiviral, and immune-stimulant properties making it useful for disinfecting and treating minor wounds, cuts, scrapes, chapped or chafed skin, bruises, burns, acne and other minor irritations and infections of the skin. Plus, it stimulates the production of collagen at wound sites to help minimize scarring and assist with stretch marks.

Saint johns wort. Whether you have oily or dry skin, this herb helps to kill bacteria and calm irritation so your skin looks smoother and healthier. Saint johns wort helps plump and hydrate skin while restoring elasticity, reducing the look of fine lines and wrinkles. St. John’s has been used to tame inflammation and calm itching as well as treat treat wounds, eczema, minor burns, insect bites and stings, and other skin irritations and problems.

Kaolin clay, is a naturally occurring clay substance mostly found in soils that have developed from the chemical weathering of rocks in hot, moist climates. .Kaolin clay has been traditionally used in caring, nourishing, and soothing different skin types

Kaolin clay is used as a skin detoxifying and cleansing agent. The clay contains a high content of silica that helps in removing the dead skin and helps it to regenerate. This also purifies and detoxes the skin and makes it moist. Kaolin clay can be used as a topical emolument to treat skin conditions, such as soreness of the muscles, aches, and pain, inflammations, small and moderate cuts, bruises, boils cold sores and insect bites.

It is the mildest of all clays and is suitable for people with sensitive skin. It does not draw oils from the skin, so it can be used on dry skin types without negative results.
